MISSION
Cortex Skateboards was founded in 2005 to be the first and only skateboard company to make its decks in Belgium.
After skating American decks for over 20 years I thought it was about time to make them myself.In 2001 I started to experiment with skateboardbuilding and soon I found out that it was a more complex affair then I thought it would be. In 2005, after finding the right raw material (Canadian hard maple and special skateboard glue) I finally succeeded in making top quality skateboards and decided to start a company:
Cortex Skateboards. Cortex Skateboards is about having a dream and making it come true. Our aim is to show the Belgian and European skateboard community that we don’t necessarily have to rely on American (Chinese) decks. We Europeans can make excellent skateboards too and Cortex Skateboards is ready to prove it. So here we are… ready to kick some ass. Peter April 2006
